At Southpaw Studios we provide commisioned art work for sports show promoters and anyone who would like to have prints available for autograph purposes.
In order to keep our prices as low as we do for the promoter so he can see the highest possible profit rate on his investment in us we have created a unique business model to ensure all parties are satisfied. After the painting is done and the Prints are created Southpaw Studios retains ownership of the original artwork. The customer ordering the prints retains all reproduction rights, meaning that the original artwork will never be reproduced again for anyone. The reason we keep the original is so that it may be sold as an actual piece of art later on. That is how we keep our prices low to you up front is by being able to sell the original art on the back end of the deal.
When someone commisions us for a piece of art for their home or office it is a different situation. They are purchasing the painting outright but we keep reproduction rights to the image. They can not reproduce that painting without our permission. When a promoter purchases an image for a print run you are purchasing the reproduction rights for your business. That is the difference of the two situations.
We do offer to sell the original painting to the promoter at a discount if they are interested in it. Many promoters go this route to add it to there personal collections or to sell at their show.
An example of our low prices is-You commision us for a painting of a particular player for 50 11x14 prints. The painting is done and the prints are made and mailed to you for a total cost of .00. .00 of which is printing costs so we clear dollars for an 11x14 painting-very very reasonable. To suppliment that very reasonable price we sell the painting at a later date. So to the promoter, for an inverstment of only 4 dollars per print, they have an original art print to offer their customers that differs from the same photographs offered time and again.
That is our business model and we find it works very effectively for both ends. We are always open to suggestion if you have an idea you would like to bounce off of us.
